A Path with Heart: Anima Mundi Collaboration

  • Anima Mundi Apothecary 417 Rose Avenue Venice, CA, 90291 United States (map)

Join me, Isabel, on Sunday, September 15th from 11am to 1pm at our Venice Garden for an embodied exploration of the art of taking time to listen to the inner world of heart. We will be working with the path factor of intention, sitting with a linden infusion and learning how to listen to the HEART and ways to cultivate it.

"Our Task is not to seek for love but to look at the barriers we built against it."

-Rumi

Being born and raised in Brazil, I was always interested in the way processes unfolding in the outer world impact our psyches, and vice versa. One of my psychologist friends wrote a paper, over two decades ago, about the damming of the Margins of the River Tiete (the one that crosses the city of Sao Paulo) in order to protect the city from flooding. She wrote about the effect of it on the Soul of the city. The story keeps coming to my mind again more recently...and I am listening to it as an invitation to look and see "How" might I be doing that with the inner river of my life?

We are constantly feeling pressured to adapt to the external world, to others, to the world of work...forgetting that we should be listening and adapting to our inner world. How many of us take time upon waking to self witness, to listen to how the body feels, the moods of the mind and to the fading images and feelings of the dream world?

We desperately need to cultivate balance between our interiority and what we perceive as demands of the external world, between intellect and feeling, between efficiency and meaning. The needs of the interior world can't be neglected any longer if we want to walk a path with heart on Earth.

Experiences that bring meaning are usually experiences that awaken our senses, asking of us PRESENCE. Are we willing to give our inner process space and to go with what they ask of us?

Join Isabel for an embodied exploration of the art of taking time to converse with the heart. Through conversation, movement practice, meditation you will experience simple and profound ways to connect and to awaken into a more heart center life.

We will enter this time together as a sacred pause, offering our bodies, hearts and minds an opportunity to be deeply nurtured.

Please bring a journal for note taking.

Isabel is a licensed psychologist in Brazil where she kept a private practice and worked in clinical and institutional settings. She moved to the United States in 2007, working to deepen her experience at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. Drawn to deep self-exploration at a young age, Isabel’s approach to practice is a combination of her life-long studies: Jungian Psychology, Astrology, Yoga and Buddhism.
